About DSA Qualifications
As a Learner
DSA QUALIFICATIONS currently provides entry level qualifications for people who are setting up and growing a direct selling business.
There are many benefits for people to become qualified – here are just a few:
Recruitment – a key driver for people entering our industry is the support they receive and the personal development backup they get. It will be an enormous advantage to be able to show your prospects and your team that they are being trained by a qualified person.
Retention – the qualification will take approximately 6 months to complete so by encouraging your team to undertake the qualification you will achieve better retention levels in your team. It is well known that if you can keep a new distributor keen for more than 6 months then they are likely to continue in the business. This is key for our industry as a 1% increase in retention makes a big difference.
Transferable skills – these are skills which can be learnt and then passed onto your team. It will also demonstrate to your customers and prospects that you are dedicated to running a legal and ethical business.
Overall, the key driver is that the DSA qualification will give increased CREDIBILITY –
- credibility in terms of recruiting as a qualified Direct Seller;
- credibility in its design to aid retention;
- credibility when a Distributor is passing on new skills;
- credibility when talking to customers, prospects and your teams - people are more likely to listen and take notice of someone who is qualified.
As a Centre
What is the role of an Awarding Body?
An awarding body awards qualifications and ensures that assessment of the qualification, across a range of Approved Centres, is the same. Awarding bodies are regulated through a Government organisation called OfQual who will inspect DSAQ on a regular basis to ensure compliance with Government regulations.
What is an Assessment Centre?
Assessment centres promote, deliver and assess the qualification in accordance with the awarding bodies policies and procedures. To become an assessment centre you will need to apply to DSAQ for centre approval. DSAQ can approve any number of assessment centres all offering the same qualification and will monitor and inspect assessment centres on a regular basis to ensure compliance.
If you are a DSA Member Organisation and wish to become a ‘DSA Approved Assessment Centre’ please contact us.
